Before we even got thirty minutes into the trip, Kellen had his first near-death experience. While driving, he choked on a yogurt-covered raisin and was unable to breathe. After he didn't answer Rachel when she asked, "Can you say 'heimlich'?" she knew that he needed it. She smacked him hard between the shoulder blades and safely dislodged the yogurt-raisin while the truck was still going 55mph.
After we went to Manitowoc, Kellen wanted to show Rachel his most favorite place in all of Wisconsin. "We'll picnic there!" He drove Rachel to Belgium, and led her to the most beautiful beach, Harrington Beach, at sunset. If we weren't best friends, it would have ben romantic. We sat on the beach and ate supper, and found a stranger to take our picture. It is now one of Rachel's favorite places, too!
After getting lost in Waukesha because Amanda cannot count stoplights, we finally found her house at the place where Brad Street ends. Her neighborhood was cute, and she told us we had to be quiet because all the neighbors were sleeping since it was after 9pm. We quietly and excitedly then caught up with her before she took us on a tour of the Milwaukee area sights.
After we finished sight-seeing for the night, we pitched a tent in Amanda's backyard. The three of us then, after succeeding in getting the tent assembled, crawled inside to chat until we fell asleep. We had many interesting conversations, because that is what best friends talk about.
We woke up to Amanda staring at us. She claims the birds, trains, planes, and cars woke her up early, but Kellen and Rachel heard nothing and slept very soundly. We find it strange that she heard it all and we didn't, seeing as our hearing is fine and she's the one who wasn't wearing her hearing aids. [insert smiley here] We love you anyway, Amanda!
In the morning, we met Amanda's mommy and her niece Nahlia. Nahlia has Amanda's gorgeous eyes. We also met three of her cats, Daisy, Baby, and the other one that is not named Pudge. We showered, packed, and drank some of Amanda's mom's coffee before deciding it was time to leave. Her mother gave us some clothes line, saying we may need it. We hugged Amanda goodbye, and when everyone was feeling good and depressed, we backed out of the driveway pretty well. Then Kellen cried.

lmao! the other cat is Kitten, whom I call Kit-Kat or Kit. Did Kellen really cry?
ReplyDeleteI miss you guys! I wish we had more time together.
Yes, Kellen really cried. I didn't, but I was darn close, and seeing Kel break down sure didn't help. I hate crying, but if I didn't, I for certainly would have. I miss you so bad... WE miss you so bad.
